The Goddess & Grocer Review (O'Hare Airport)

Updated: Sep 4, 2021

Time for the goddess to find a new hobby

I walked past this place 3 times knowing it was going to be a disappointment, but decided to try it out anyway since I hadn't eaten all day and this was the only place outside of the security checkpoint (they're taking FOREVER to build the McDonald's downstairs.)

You might as well walk up to the register with your eyes closed and throw your wallet at them since they're going to take every penny anyway. I paid $11 for an average tuna sandwich, $6 for crappy gummy bears & $4 for a soda that would be $1.50 anywhere outside of the airport. On top of that they had the nerve to ask for a tip after I just paid almost $23 for a snack.

It took them about 10 minutes to make my tuna sandwich even though there was no one ahead of me. The tuna salad was dry and has no flavor to it. The only decent thing about it was the bread which was light & moist. You'd think for $11 they'd throw on spinach instead of mediocre dollar store lettuce, but hey I don't run the place. Gummy bears had an odd sour tinge to them and didn't taste like the fruit they represented. Looking at the packaging they contained no real fruit juice either, all artificial flavoring.

Overall, I'd skip this place and get a better meal elsewhere. The prices are outrageous for such sub-par food. Looking at other reviews also raises questions of sanitary conditions.
